We are seeking for a Sustainability Business Development Director to be a key player in driving our commitment to environmental and social responsibility within the USA. The consultancy director will be responsible for building a dynamic team in identifying, developing, and implementing sustainable business opportunities, ensuring the alignment with our corporate sustainability goals. Its strategic vision and leadership will contribute to the growth and success of our sustainability initiatives across the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead strategically, developing and implementing a sustainability business development plan for the US in alignment with corporate objectives, and providing guidance and leadership to the team in identifying and pursuing sustainable business opportunities.
  • Cultivate and maintain business partnerships, including relationships with key stakeholders, clients, and internal partners in our region to foster collaboration and drive sustainability initiatives, as well as collaborating with internal teams to integrate sustainability principles into business processes and decision-making.
  • Conduct comprehensive market analysis to identify emerging sustainability trends and opportunities within the USA while staying abreast of relevant regulations, certifications, and industry best practices to ensure compliance and innovation.
  • Communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including management, employees, and suppliers, to gather relevant information and address audit-related queries.
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of sustainability professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement, providing guidance on project prioritization, goal setting, and performance evaluations; and staying informed about changes in RSPO standards and industry best practices.
  • Develop commercial strategies on environmental and sustainability services of Peterson in USA and ensure participation in trade fairs and networking events for lead identification and positioning Peterson in the sustainability market in USA.

Requirements:

  • Sustainability, environmental engineer or related bachelor studies with major in the environmental or sustainability field is required; and a master’s degrees or advanced studies in sustainability, environment or related fields is a desirable qualification.
  • 10-15 years of proven experience in environmental or sustainability areas (industry specific or consulting), sustainability business development or a related field, with a focus on strategy development and implementation.
  • Strong understanding of sustainability frameworks, standards, and reporting methodologies.
  • Desirable knowledge on other areas of expertise such as: energy efficiency, renewable energy, circular economy, resilience, social and community services expertise, among others.
  • PMP (project management) certification or similar certifications are a plus.
  • Advanced English and Spanish.
  • Microsoft Office package.
